Hiring: Senior Web Developer in our Medellín offices. This is a full-time position Position Summary: elev8.io is changing the game for Behavioral Health companies, committed to helping our clients close the gap between the millions suffering from addiction or mental health problems. We are growing rapidly and seeking a Senior Web Developer with extensive experience in WordPress plugin development, template and theme creation, and web application development.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining website functionalities, ensuring speed and performance, managing website architecture, and providing technical mentorship to junior developers. Responsibilities: 1.
Develop custom plugins on demand to extend WordPress functionalities.
2. Maintain, update, and troubleshoot existing plugins to ensure compatibility and performance. 3. Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand plugin requirements and provide solutions. 4. Customize existing themes based on client requirements and best practices.
5. Create reusable templates and ensure they adhere to web standards and accessibility guidelines. 6. Develop and deploy scalable web applications as per client needs. 7. Integrate third-party APIs and services into web applications.
8. Ensure web applications are secure, robust, and optimized for performance. 9. Conduct regular performance audits of websites and implement optimization strategies (e.g., caching, compression, minification). 10. Cleanse and streamline plugins to avoid redundancy and enhance site performance.
11. Manage hosting environments, including database administration and scaling applications to handle load changes. 12.
Design and implement website architecture that is scalable and easy to maintain. 13. Ensure proper code structure, organization, and documentation.
14. Collaborate with designers and content creators to develop cohesive web experiences. 15. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices, coding standards, and technology trends. 16. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
17. Organize and lead training sessions and workshops to enhance the technical skills of the development team. Qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in web development, with a strong focus on WordPress. 3. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and PHP. 4.
Extensive experience with WordPress plugin and theme development.
5. Knowledge of web application frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) is a plus. 6. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and deployment workflows. 7. Strong understanding of website optimization techniques and best practices.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 9. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 10. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
