We are looking for a UI Designer responsible for creating intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for games developed in UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite).
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of UX/UI design principles, along with experience in creating dynamic interfaces that enhance gameplay and align with Fortnite’s design guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop user interfaces (UI)
that improve the user experience (UX) within games created in UEFN.
- Collaborate with game designers, developers, and other cross-disciplinary teams to ensure cohesion between visual design and game functionality.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups for in-game interfaces.
- Implement and optimize HUDs (Heads-Up Displays) and interactive menus tailored to Fortnite’s style.
- Conduct usability testing and adjust the design based on user feedback.
- Ensure that the interfaces are consistent with Fortnite’s visual style and are accessible and easy to use for all players.
- Work closely with programming teams to integrate interfaces into the UEFN engine.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in designing interfaces for video games, ideally in UEFN or Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or similar.
- Ability to create visual assets and graphics consistent with Fortnite’s style.
- Familiarity with creating HUDs (Heads-Up Displays), menus,
and interactive elements within the context of a video game.
- Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and their application in gaming experiences.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Blueprints and/or scripting in UEFN (preferred).
- Knowledge of Fortnite's mechanics and dynamics, as well as other similar games.
- Experience in creating multiplayer or real-time experiences.
- Ability to work in agile environments and adapt to rapid changes in game design.
